Plot
At present
Muncie, Indiana. A police car pulls up to an abandoned and bedraggled hotel called The Elysian Fields. A policeman gets out of the car and enters the abandoned hotel. The beam from his flashlight cuts through the darkness. The policeman hears a sound and he calls out but gets no answer. The officer explores further. As he walks, he passes a flowerpot of long-dead crocuses. Of a sudden the crocuses come back to life and come into full bloom. He notices a shattered mirror behind him. The officer turns and sees a man in a tuxedo.
The policeman tells the tuxedoed man he tin't be here, simply the man begs to differ—he has to get the identify ready, he says, because they're coming. All of them. And, he adds, we each have our part to play. "Even you!" the human being says cheerily to the policeman. "You are dinner." The human grabs the officer and every bit he pulls the policeman out of frame, a thick splash of claret hits the mirror.
By the time Sam and Dean go far, The Elysian Fields has been fully restored to its glory. The Winchesters can't believe their luck finding a swank hotel in the middle of nowhere. The human being in the tuxedo is now behind the hotel front desk wearing a red hotel employee jacket. The homo checks the boys into the hotel. The man remarks about a cut on Dean'due south neck and immediately produces a towel to absorb the blood. Dean is puzzled, but accepts the towel. The human being gives Sam and Dean the key to their hotel room. Dean asks if the hotel has a coffee store. The red jacketed human being elegantly gestures with his right hand as he replies "Cafe. All yous can swallow. All-time pie in the Tri-Country area."
In fact, the buffet is stocked with what seems to exist every pie Dean might imagine. A human being at the cafe grins, proverb to Dean "Heaven, correct?"
"Better." Dean declares.
Dean takes a slice of pie, greedily grabbing a garnish off of a chocolate cream for good measure out, and moves to find a seat, pausing at the sight of a beautiful dark skinned adult female in a red dress, swirling a pink martini with a swizzle stick.
"How you doin'?" he says, and she cuts him off without even looking upwards -- "No."
"But --" Dean tries over again, and is again close downwardly with a quiet "No."
"But lady, I'k just..."
"I empathise," she says again. "And, no." She contemplates the eye-shaped skewered cherry in her cocktail every bit Dean gives up.
Dean sits down at a tabular array to bask his pie but Sam is itchy to go. He points out the tempest outside is "biblical" in its force, yet they're relaxing and eating pie. Dean advises Sam to calm down and comforts him past proverb that Bobby is monitoring for Lucifer's activities in every way possible.
"Nobody's giving upwardly," Dean assures Sam, "especially me." Dean adds they'll find Adam and Cass, but Sam is no good to him burned out. He tells Sam to take the nighttime off and enjoy it. Behind them a waitress rushes off to the kitchen where the chef is preparing another dish including what appears to be....a bloody, severed arm on the cutting lath.
The boys head to their room and notice a couple making out in the corner. Dean grins. Sam is not entertained and tries to ignore them. "What are you, twelve?" he says to Dean.
"I'm young at center.", Dean jokes.
Upon entering their hotel room, Dean is immediately impressed by the little touches: chocolate on their pillows, "Casa Erotica 13" on demand. Simply Sam is suspicious. He wonders why a 4-star hotel is located by a no-star highway. Dean doesn't care, and starts grinning at the giggles and squeals from the amorous couple, now audible in the room next to theirs. Suddenly something in the amorous couple's room slams confronting the wall hard plenty to dislodge bricks in Sam and Dean'southward room. The Winchesters investigate, merely when they enter the next room, the bed sheets are messed upwards but no one is there. They also find a diamond solitaire ring on the shag-carpeted floor.
Sam and Dean report the racket to the man at the front desk, and he calmly tells them the couple they are concerned near are honeymooners, Mr. and Mrs. Logan, and they accept checked out. "But at present", he adds with a bright smile. Dean points out not only is information technology weird for them to bank check out in the centre the honeymoon activities, they left without a diamond band. The man backside the counter smiles and takes the band from Dean, assuring him it'll get into the lost and found, and not to worry. He asks the boys if they demand anything else, and when they say no, he sends them off with, "Super fantastic."
Much to Dean'southward disappointment, the brothers realize they accept a example. "One night off", Dean gripes, "Is that too much to enquire?" Sam agrees to monitor the creepy concierge, and Dean takes to the halls to investigate.
Sam follows the concierge down a hallway, but loses him around a corner. Sam then notices he is bleeding from a small cut on his neck.
Dean heads down a hallway focused on the EMF meter he'south holding. He passes the open door of a room where an elephant is flinging a towel... Being focused on the EMF meter, Dean takes another footstep or ii before he processes what appeared in his peripheral vision as he passed the open room. Dean backs up a couple of steps and sees a heavyset black man with a towel wrapped around his heart. "This ain't no peep show!" the human being declares every bit he slams the door shut.
In another room, somewhere in the hotel, a handsome man puts a necklace around the cute dark-skinned woman'due south neck, and tells her how beautiful she is. He kisses her neck and puts his hands on her waist. "I hate sweetness," she says coldly. The concierge arrives, interrupting the couple. He tells the attractive couple the final guests take arrived, the pantry is full, and the Winchesters are suspicious, merely under control. Everything is set up. The woman asks the concierge if he has the claret. Of form, he says, and in the blink of an heart, zips across the room to present the woman with ii vials. "I'one thousand quick," he says with a smile, "Boys never even knew what hit 'em."
"Thank yous, Mercury," she coos. Baldur says it'due south time to become the prove on the road.
Sam and Dean rendezvous in the lobby and trade their strange stories, just go silent when they notice the foyer is empty and the doors are locked. Sam begins to recollect about how they got there—a detour off the highway, and so the freak hurricane. They realize they were led to the hotel. "Similar rats in a maze," Sam says.
The boys head into the kitchen but to find it empty besides. A pot of red liquid boils on the stove. "Please be tomato plant soup. Delight exist tomato soup," Dean says, stirring a ladle into the liquid and pulling upwards... eyeballs.
Sam optics a freezer and creeps up to its window, only to be startled by a frantic hand that starts banging on the window. People inside the freezer scream to exist let out. Sam fumbles as he pulls out his lock-picking kit. Dean yells at him to hurry up, just it'south too late. Sam freezes and stares over Dean's head. "There'southward something behind me, isn't there?" Dean whispers nervously. Behind Dean are a heavy Asian man, and a blackness gentleman. They roughly take hold of the Winchesters and forcefulness them into the grand ballroom where the nighttime complected woman and her consort wait with an quondam man, the homo from the room where Dean thought he saw the elephant, and others.
They are all wearing name tags. The elephant human being is Ganesh. The onetime man is Odin. The beautiful dark skinned woman in reddish is Kali the Destroyer. The blackness gentleman homo who grabbed them in the kitchen is Baron Samedi, a noted spirit of Haitian Vodou and Louisiana Voodoo. All of them hail from non-Christian pantheons and traditions
"Something tells me this isn't a shriner convention," Dean jokes.
Mercury enters with a rolling cart upon which there is a covered platter surrounded by meat. "Dinner is served," he says, uncovering the platter to reveal a severed caput covered in goo. The gods and spirits applaud, and a spotlight captures Sam and Dean. The man with Kali (Baldur) says, "Our guests of laurels have arrived."
They seat Sam and Dean in front of the group, all of whom now sit down at a long banquet table. Baldur calls the meeting to order by tapping his fork on a champagne glass. Baldur says he never idea he'd see this solar day, with and so many gods under one roof. Baldur lays down a few ground rules. No slaughtering each other. Easy on the wrath. Oh, and endeavour to leave the local virgins alone, they're trying to continue a low profile.
"Oh nosotros're so, so screwed," Sam whispers.
"We all know why we're here," Baldur says. "The Judeo-Christian Apocalypse looms over us. I know we've all had our disagreements in the past. The time has come to put those aside and wait toward the hereafter. Because if we don't, we won't accept one." He then points to Dean and Sam and describes the Winchesters as valuable bargaining fries—Michael and Lucifer'due south vessels. Baldur asks the assembled deities what might they desire to do with the Winchesters.
Zao Shen (a Chinese deity) stands up and makes a forceful declaration in Cantonese. Ganesh laughs. "Kill 'em? What, and then the angels can bring them back again?" (A concept with which Ganesh is intimately familiar.)
Odin laughs at Zao Shen'due south idea, offending Zao Shen. Attention in the room shifts to Odin and Zao Shen as they argue, and the Winchesters use the diversion and attempt to sneak out of the room, but a chandelier crashes to the ground in front of them, blocking their style.
"Stay," Kali orders coldly, standing upward. The brothers plough around. Kali declares the deities accept to fight. She declares, "The merely thing the archangels understand is violence anyway... It'south them, or us." Mercury politely suggests they haven't even tried talking to the angels. Kali turns her cold gaze on him. He immediately begins to choke on blood. Baldur stops Kali from killing Mercury outright.
Then the doors wing open, and Gabriel colorfully struts in. Forever the ham, Gabriel chides "Tin't we all just get forth?" With angelic ability, Gabriel silences Sam and Dean before they can speak (equally Sam and Dean recognize Gabriel, aka The Trickster, aka Loki, and this fact is not known to the assembled deities).
"Sam. Dean. Information technology's ever 'incorrect place, worst fourth dimension' with you lot muttonheads, huh?" Gabriel says. Baldur is non pleased, and addresses Gabriel every bit Loki. Gabriel says he's there to talk nearly the elephant in the room. Ganesh attempts to get upwardly but Gabriel says he'south referring to The Apocalypse. "We tin can't terminate it, gang. Only, beginning things beginning."
Gabriel turns to Sam and Dean, and tells them the adults need to have a individual chat. With a moving ridge of his hand, he teleports Sam and Dean into a nearby room, where they attempt to grasp Gabriel's advent equally Loki. They endeavour to effigy out a next movement. Dean suggests they gratis the people from the freezer and 'gank' a few deities along the way if they're lucky.
Gabriel, however, appears and spoils the Winchesters' plan. Dean blames Gabriel for the brothers being held captive at The Elysian Fields. Gabriel tells Dean he had nothing to do with it. "I'chiliad the Costner to your Houston. I'm here to save your ass!" he says. He explains the deities were either going to kill them or use them equally bait. Either way, Gabriel says, "yous're uberboned."
Gabriel states that Lucifer and Michael will use Sam and Dean as their corresponding vessels and fight each other, but non tonight. Dean does non understand why Gabriel would intendance, and at showtime he insists Gabriel doesn't. Then Gabriel admits he and Kali have a history. "Chick was all hands," Gabriel says. "What can I say, I'chiliad sentimental."
And so Sam sees a glimmer of promise in the situation. He asks Gabriel if the deities could conquer Lucifer, and Gabriel laughs. Gabriel maintains Match volition plough them into finger paint, and so it's best to get going while the getting'due south good. Dean asks why Gabriel doesn't just 'zap' the deities out of there. Gabriel explains Kali has them tethered with a blood spell.
So, between spritzes of jiff freshener, Gabriel says he must work some black magic of his own.
Dean demands Gabriel too save the captives in the freezer, but Gabriel refuses. Then Dean realizes something—the deities think he's Loki. Which ways they don't know who he really is. Dean repeats his demands, adding if Gabriel doesn't do what he asks, he'll out him to the other deities. Dean rebuffs Gabriel's ongoing threats, and eventually make a deal.
Kali is disrobing in her room when the lights suddenly get out, and a sumptuous candlelit dinner appears. Gabriel stands by with a rose, and Kali greets him with "Leave."
But "Loki" won't be easily dismissed, even though Kali has moved on with Baldur. Gabriel reveals Kali chosen him there. The goddess is displeased he isn't taking things seriously. Gabriel proposes if the terminate is coming, they should but leave. "Screw this marble. Let'due south go check out Pandora," he jokes. Kali insists they can fight. Gabriel breaks it to her—if they do, they'll be toast. No more tricks, he says. "I'one thousand begging you -- don't practise this."
"I have to," she whispers.
"Can't blame me for trying," Gabriel says. "However honey me?"
"No," Kali answers, and pulls him in roughly for a kiss.
Downstairs, Sam and Dean sneak into the kitchen and are forced to hide and lookout man as Zao Shen and other gods cede a human on the hotel's front desk. When they get to the kitchen, Sam is about to pick the lock in the freezer door when Zao Shen grabs him from backside and starts to strangle him with one hand. Dean appears behind Zao Shen and runs him through with a wood beam.
"Where's Gabriel?" Dean asks.
In Kali'south room, "Loki" hopes his kiss is plenty to distract Kali as he reaches for the vials of Sam and Dean's claret. It isn't. Kali pushes him away. "You must take me for a fool... Gabriel," Kali coos. She holds upwards her hand, which has his blood on it. "Y'all're spring to me," she tells him, "now and forever."
[For the Supernatural viewer, the screen unexpectedly breaks upwardly with static, and equally the screen clears, two familiar faces appear... it's Ghostfacers, doing a commercial for their prove replete with an accordingly cheesy theme song. (Ghostfacers is now a web series on the CW's website.)]
Sam and Dean are forcibly brought dorsum into the principal ballroom, where Gabriel sits at Kali's side. She announces to the room The Trickster has tricked them. Gabriel pleads with her, but she sits on his lap and reminds him that he belongs to her... and, she adds, he has something she wants. She slowly moves her hand to his chest, just instead of ripping out his center, she produces his Affections Blade.
"An archangel's bract," she tells them, completing the outing with, "From the archangel Gabriel."
Gabriel admits he'due south an affections, merely insists he'south not a spy, but a delinquent really trying to salvage them. Kali refuses to believe him.
"I know my brother, Kali," he says. "He should scare the living crap out of you. Y'all tin can't crush him." Gabriel says he's had a glimpse of the future and has seen how this ends.
"Your story, not ours," Kali tells him. "Westerners, I swear -- the sheer arrogance. You lot think you're the simply ones on Globe? You pillage and you butcher in your God's proper name. But yous're non the only religion. And he's not the only god. Now you remember yous can just rip the planet apart? You're wrong. There are billions of us, and we were here first. If anyone gets to end this globe... information technology'southward me."
She tells Gabriel she's sorry, and so plunges his Angel Blade into his chest. Gabriel screams and glows for a moment. So he'south gone. Kali says this proves that they can kill Match.
Of a sudden Dean speaks up. "Alright you lot primitive screwheads, heed up," he says, standing up and affecting the swagger of a man who'due south out of options. "Now on any other given mean solar day, I'd be doing my damndest to kill you. Y'all filthy murdering chimps. Only, uh, hey -- desperate times. And then even though I'd love zippo meliorate than to slit your throats, you dicks, I'yard going to help you. I'm going to help you ice the devil. And so we tin can all get back to ganking each other, like normal."
He pours himself a glass of whiskey.
He tells them if they want Friction match, he and Sam can get him there. He tells the deities they'll help if they let the other people go. If information technology doesn't piece of work, Dean says, "you lot can eat me... literally."
Cutting to the hotel'due south front end doors opening and the people previously trapped the freezer running out, screaming bloody murder. Someone calls to Dean from the back seat of the Impala. Information technology'southward... Gabriel? "Yous think I'd give Kali my real sword? That affair can kill me," he jokes.
He tells Dean he made the simulated out of a tin of orange Slice. He then tells Dean that Kali liked his speech, and tells him to get shut and catch their claret and so they can all go out.
Dean counters Gabriel should sack up and help them impale Friction match. Gabriel refuses and says he's blowing Jonestown, but Dean says he sees right through Gabriel. Even though the deities in there stabbed him through the eye, they're all the same his family and he gives a crap about them. Dean reminds Gabriel they're going to die without his assist. That is, unless he has a better program.
"I can't impale my blood brother," Gabriel tells him.
"Can't or won't?" Dean asks, and gets no response, implying Gabriel simply won't. "Idea so." Dean exits the Impala and leaves Gabriel there.
Sam tells Kali to fulfill his end of the deal, the sigils must be removed from his ribs. "Would be easier to break them," she coos, but foreplay is interrupted when Dean comes in and rats out Gabriel as however existence alive. "Detest to suspension it to you lot, merely you've been tricked," he tells Kali.
As she'southward peeling her jaw off the flooring, Mercury is summoned by the forepart desk bell dinging. He turns around to see... Lucifer, inside his deteriorating vessel. "Checking in," Lucifer says.
Lucifer tells Mercury he was right to call him. Mercury explains the talk inside the room was getting crazy.
"Y'all know," Match tells him. "I never did sympathise you pagans. You're such... petty picayune things. Always fighting, e'er happy to sell out your own kind. No wonder you forfeited this planet to us."
He points at Mercury and tells him they're worse than humans, they're worse than demons. And yet, Friction match says, they claim to exist gods. He leans his head to one side and twists his finger, twisting Mercury's neck at the same time. "And they call me prideful," Lucifer sneers.
Inside the ballroom the lights are flashing. Baldur and Kali can tell something's incorrect. Outside, Odin is wailing at Match's anxiety as he crushes him. Ganesh charges Lucifer and with a wave of his mitt, the devil turns the elephant god into a bloodstain on the wall. He does the same to Baron Samedi.
"It'south him," Sam says nervously. Dean begs the deities to zap them abroad, and Baldur says they tin can't. Match is stopping them, and now he'due south in the room. Baldur moves to face Friction match, and asks what gives his kind the right to accept over the planet. Lucifer replies past punching through Baldur'south trunk. "No one gives us the right," he says calmly. "We take information technology." He withdraws his bloody arm from Baldur, who collapses dead on the floor. Kali makes her last stand up. Her artillery become pillars of flame, and she floods Lucifer with fire, but he emerges unscathed. She steps up to punch him with flaming fists, but he sends her flying with an uppercut.
Gabriel suddenly appears and hands Dean a copy of "Casa Erotica thirteen", telling him to guard it with his life. He steps in as Match moves to grind Kali underfoot and pushes his brother across the room.
"Lucy... I'grand habitation!" Gabriel jokes, guarding Kali with his angelic blade. He instructs Dean and Sam to get Kali out of the room, and holds off Lucifer, who can't believe his brother would beguile him over a daughter. "I knew you lot were slumming, but I promise you didn't catch anything."
"Match," Gabriel tells him, "you're my brother, and I love yous, just you lot are a great large purse of dicks."
"What did you lot just say to me?"
Gabriel taunts him, saying he could play the victim all he wanted, merely the truth was dad loved him best. Everyone knew it. But then dad brought the new baby home, and Lucifer couldn't handle it.
"All this is merely a corking large temper tantrum," Gabriel says. "Time to grow up."
Sam and Dean hustle Kali into the Impala. They drive off equally quickly every bit possible.
Gabriel informs Lucifer if Michael were there he'd tell him the same matter, and Match angrily accuses him of being disloyal. Gabriel corrects his brother: "Oh, I'yard loyal... to people." Lucifer asks why Gabriel is willing to die for a "pile of cockroaches," and Gabriel answers God was correct -- "they are better than us."
"They are broken, flawed abortions," Friction match insists. Gabriel agrees, only adds a lot of them try to do improve, to forgive.
"And," he says offhandedly, "you should see the Spearmint Rhinoceros!"
He tells Lucifer he's been riding the pine for a long time, and he's non Lucifer's side, or Michael's. "I'k on theirs."
Match begs Gabriel not to make him practise this, and Gabriel points out that nobody makes them practice anything.
"I know you remember you're doing the correct thing, Gabriel," Lucifer says, as the existent Gabriel slowly steps up backside Lucifer, "but I know where your heart truly lies."
Friction match turns around and catches Gabriel raising his bract to him, and redirects it to make Gabriel stab himself in the gut. "Here," Lucifer finishes. The illusion Gabriel disappears.
"Amateur hocus pocus," Lucifer whispers to the real Gabriel. "Don't forget, you learned all your tricks from me, trivial brother." Lucifer twists the bract, and Gabriel screams and glows, for real this time. Lucifer leaves Gabriel on the ground, his wings burned into the floor on each side.
Then... we're treated to the opening scenes from "Casa Erotica 13," complete with a disclaimer at the start all of the performers in the film are of legal age. Open on a blonde woman wearing nothing but underwear and Lucite heels doing a "dear diary" voiceover, talking about how super fun it is to be a high powered executive, but sometimes she needs something dissimilar. Sometimes she needs... Casa Erotica. At that place's a knock at her door... it'southward room service.
The boys are watching this on their laptop. Sam can't believe Gabriel asked them to guard it with his life. Dean shrugs. "It is a good one," he says.
In the moving-picture show, the door opens, and the room service waiter appears: Gabriel wearing a inexpensive costume and a mustache. He enters with his special delivery of Hungarian sausage. Gabriel starts making out with the girl, then he turns to look at the photographic camera. He tells the boys if they're watching this, he'south dead. Oh, and they have zero chance of killing Lucifer.
But, Gabriel adds, in that location is one thing: the cage they freed Match from is still there, and if they play their cards right, they might be able to shove him back into it.
Not that it'll exist piece of cake, Gabriel says. First they have to become the cage open, and then play a trick on Lucifer back into it, and oh aye, avoid the angels. Details, details.
Then he drops a chip of knowledge on them non fifty-fifty Friction match is enlightened of: "The key to the cage? Information technology's out there! Actually, it's keys, plural. 4 keys. Four rings. From the Horsemen. Y'all get 'em all, yous've got the muzzle."
"Can't say I'thousand betting on you boys," he adds, "but I've been wrong earlier."
Gabriel finishes past telling Dean he was right. He was afraid to stand up to his brother. "Then this is me, standing up." Gabriel stands upwardly, and the porn star eases up behind him. "And this is me... lying down!" Gabriel tosses away the mustache and starts kissing the giggling woman. And so information technology gets naughty, and Sam closes the computer.
Dean reminds Sam they already have State of war's ring, and Famine'southward. All they take to practice is nick Expiry's and Pestilence's.
"Oh, is that all?" Sam says dourly.
Well, it's more than they had before. "Information technology's a plan," Dean tells his brother. They make it the car and head off.
Elsewhere, an old, dilapidated hatchback pulls up to a general store. Inside, the clerk is reading a story about a flu epidemic spreading, and a fly spirals in front of his face, landing on the paper. He moves to swat information technology, but is interrupted by a sickly looking man, who comes in and sneezes, spewing saliva all over the place. He runs his easily all over the products, leaving a trail of slime.
More flies swarm the clerk. The human being picks up an orange box of flu medication, proverb he has a lot of driving to do and asking if the meds will make him sleepy. The clerk says no. He walks up to the counter, coughing and sneezing, spraying the clerk with slime. As he walks out, he stops cough, smiles to himself and tosses the box away. As he gets into his car, nosotros become a shot of the Nevada license plate: SIKN * TRD.
The man grins, and as if we don't go information technology, the green jeweled band on his finger identifies him as Pestilence . His motorcar becomes thick and night with flies, and Pestilence grins as he drives abroad.
